CDS Substance Abuse Prevention Gilchrist County Florida
CDS Substance Abuse Treatments Alachua County Florida CDS Family & Behavioral Health Services, Gilchrist County Florida CDS is a non-profit organization that has produced quality, innovative, and progressive programs since 1970. Originating from a group of UF professors that noticed a need in the community for substance abuse treatment and prevention for adults and children establishing the Corner Drug Store as a community Service agency. In 2003 the Independent Living program was added that provided support to young adults ages 16-22 transitioning out of the foster care system. In 2007 the Corner Drug Store changed its name to CDS Family & Behavioral Health Services, Inc and started covering fourteen counties in Florida. In 2013 CDS moved to strengthen prevention programs and move away from substance abuse treatments and increase our prevention programs in Alachua and Levy County. In 2016 CDS added the S.N.A.P program funded by the Florida Network and in 2019 the program expanded to S.N.A.P in schools.

Alcoholics Anonymous Gilcrist County District 27 Florida District 27 is a collection of Groups located within Dixie, Gilcrist and Levy counties, extending North to Steinhatchee and Bell, West to Cedar Key, East to Trenton and South to Williston. It covers 2330 Square miles in total. District 27 shall be guided and directed by the Three Legacies of Recovery, Unity and Service, the guiding principles by which A.A. members recover and by which their Society functions through the principles of A.A.’s Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions and Twelve Concepts. District 27’s primary purpose is to stimulate A.A. member’ interest in general service by relying on good communication as the primary means to show that “service can add a rich dimension to their sober lives and Twelfth Step work, and that participation is vital to the future of A.A.”
