Collier County Florida Sheriffs Office Substance Use Resources Opioid use and addiction in the United States has become a prolonged epidemic, endangering public health, economic output, and national security. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) has recognized and accepted that in order to fight this epidemic, we play a vital role. CCSO is working closely with the Collier County Board of County Commissioners, and numerous community partner agencies, to facilitate implementation of the Healthy Collier Community Health Improvement Plan. CCSO is also an essential member of the Collier County Community Drug Response Team (CDRT), as well as participates in a partnership with Drug Free America, aiming to end addiction. In order to combat the struggles of addiction, CCSO joined many other Florida law enforcement agencies and issued NARCAN to all deputies, in order to be utilized on overdosing individuals. The CCSO Behavioral Health Bureau (BHB) also oversees the Collier County Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) Program, in order to redirect certain substance-related activity to treatment services, instead of jail and prosecution.
